Dolce Far Niente

Here is another little piece of Italian culture. One of the most famous Italian artists, Michelangelo.                                                                                                                      Michelangelo was born on March 6, 1475 as  Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni in the Republic of Florence. He was an Italian Renaissance painter, sculptor, architect, and poet. His most significant example of painting lies in his frescoes on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Venice is a North-Eastern Italian city and capital of the Veneto region. It consists of 118 small islands connected together by more than 400 beautiful bridges. Venice has an estimated population of 2.6 million people. Though Italy is well known for its warm weather, the location of Venezia in the north usually leaves it a bit cooler with a daily average of 37.9 degrees F in winter and 73.4 degrees F in summer. For our first taste of Italian culture, we will begin with the geography of Italy. First, we will take a look at the capital of Italy, Rome. Though Rome, or Roma , is located in central Italy, its authenticity is limited due to a heightened level of tourists. Despite the beautiful architecture of Rome, it is a poor representation of Italy's culture. Rome is occupied heavily by gypsies and tourists.
